Friday 17 - Saturday 18 April 2009
This conference has now taken place.
For the first time ATPS hosted this EFPTA event, combining
our 8th Annual Conference with the Spring 2009 conference of
EFPTA.
ATPS welcomed psychology teachers from a dozen or so European
countries to the Scottish capital, including ATP members from
south of the border!
This was an exciting opportunity to meet colleagues from almost
all the countries in Europe where psychology is taught at pre-university level. It’s was a conference with a difference - a chance to benefit
from sharing experiences and ideas across national boundaries.
The programme featured talks and workshops. Our invited keynote speakers were Professor David Perrett
of St. Andrews University, and Carol Craig from the Centre for
Confidence and Wellbeing - both highly-regarded experts in their
respective fields.
ATPS is a founder member of the European Federation of Psychology
Teachers' Associations - EFPTA - which was formed in 2004 and
now has around 12 member countries across Europe.
EFPTA holds conference events twice a year in various European
cities (previous venues include Barcelona, Helsinki, Reykjavik),
and all members of the Federation's member associations are
entitled to attend these. See the EFPTA website for more details of the
Federation.
Through EFPTA, ATPS is building
strong links with European colleagues.
